“The phone has been ringing off the hook for people wanting to buy tickets ever since plans for the concert were recently released,” said Pam Miller,” Executive Director of the Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB.
Tickets have now just actually become available for purchase as ofthis past Monday, November 19. The concert will be at the Indian Lake High School auditorium.
With only approximately 700 seats, every seat is considered the best seat in the house,” adds Miller. Proceeds will benefit annual events coordinated by the Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce including the Annual Fireworks display in July and the Indian Lake High School.
“It was brought to our attention by The Cowsills, that the Indian Lake Song was first recorded in May of 1968 and they wanted to celebrate the anniversary of the song at Indian Lake, “explained Miller.
“Not only are they celebrating 50 years since the release of their hit song, “Indian Lake” but this anniversary also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Indian Lake High School. said Miller, “This wouldn’t be possible without our anonymous benefactor or for Gold Sponsor, RV Wholesalers, and our Bronze Sponsors Lima Memorial and Fion Wine Room,”adds Miller.
“The Cowsills love it here at Indian Lake,” Miller maintained. “In 2011 they played here for Party at the Beach and since then, they have claimed Indian Lake, Ohio as their Indian Lake. The Cowsills, a family band, popular in the 1960’s and early 1970’s were the inspiration behind The Partridge Family, and had hits such as “Hair” and “The Rain, the Park, & Other Things. By the generosity of a local benefactor, The Cowsills will be coming back to Indian Lake, said Miller.
The evening celebration will also include Indian Lake High School graduate and Nashville songwriter, Even Stevens with Mike Loudermilk, Indian Lake High School Graduate Steve Smalley will be performing with SNL Acoustics, and the Indian Lake Vocal Jazz Ensemble will have a short performance as well. MC’s for the evening will be County Commissioner, Joe Antram who is a graduate of Indian Lake High School and former music teacher and beloved friend of the community, Judy Grubb
