Ohio Chamber Announces Emergency Relief Funds Available for Logan County Small Businesses Impacted by Recent Tornadoes

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation has raised funds to provide grants to small businesses in Logan County adversely impacted by the tornadoes and severe weather that took place on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Partner companies and organizations including Huntington Bank, Grange Insurance, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Westfield Insurance, Columbia Gas/NiSource Charitable Foundation, the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce have generously donated to the effort.

“There were numerous businesses impacted by the severe weather in March,” said Ohio Chamber CEO Steve Stivers. “As an organization that supports the Ohio business community, we wanted to set up an emergency fund to make sure we are helping business owners when they need it the most.”

Donations will help provide grants to small businesses in Logan County, Ohio, that were impacted by the severe weather. Funds were collected through the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation and will be distributed by the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce. The grants will be awarded in amounts up to $5,000, and the funds can be used for out-of-pocket expenses needed to resume business operations.

“A grant like this can be the difference between a local business getting back up and running immediately or having to wait several weeks or even months while waiting for insurance or federal program assistance to become available,” said Ben Vollrath, President & CEO of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to see our small businesses use this to bounce back quickly.”
